133 – The 5 Dumbest Things I’ve Heard Leaders Say

Now here’s another topic that I’m very excited to share not because these comments are cool or okay to say, but because of the wisdom, we can get out of them.

Here are the five things that I’ve heard leaders say that made me really scratch my head.

I’m not saying that these leaders or anyone who might’ve said something demotivating, demoralizing, or just outright dumb are bad leaders. They probably said these out of exasperation or in the heat of the moment without realizing the effect of what they were saying.

I’m sharing this today (and probably more in the future) to keep us all aware of how our words can greatly impact our members. So always choose your words wisely.

[0:00] Intro

[1:13] “We could do $10M in your region, without you there.”

[4:05] “The more advertising (lead generation) we do, the less you (team members) work.”

[8:11] “If you don’t do XYZ, I’m not going to be able to pay my mortgage.”

[10:36] “Don’t listen to [Name]!”

[13:33] “That’s the dumbest question I’ve ever heard.”
